Punk legend Patti Smith is on tour and she and her band will be playing Milwaukee Theatre in Milwaukee's Westown. Smith and her band will be performing her debut record, Horses (1975) in its entirety - an opportunity that will likely never arise again. Horses, considered to be a landmark album in punk, has made an impact on many well known artists and musicians; Courtney Love of Hole stated that Horses is amongst the few records that influenced her to become a rock musician, Viv Albertine of the Slits stated Horses "absolutely and completely changed [her] life," Michael Stipe of R.E.M. purchased the record in high school and was quoted saying that it "tore [his] limbs off and put them back on in a whole different order" - and the list goes on and on. Horses continues to influence artists today.
