This past weekend Max Holiday and his affiliates, along with guest deejays, celebrated the 1 year anniversary of "Precognition"; a monthly dance event held at Quarters. The goal of Precognition is to highlight underground house and dance music in a stripped down, no frills atmosphere. With the lights cut and a strobes put on, the event sparks an elevated sense of free expression for participants. While sometimes dancing at a local rock show can be a little awkward or exposing for some, walking into Precognition takes away that anxiety and leaves you to your own devices. The vibe was right.
Max Holiday is a Milwaukee-based musician, busy with running the label "Close Up Of The Serene" with colleagues MS 115 and Liquid City Motors, writing and playing in the live band "Athletic Supply", while creating and DJing regularly. From my interview with Max, it was clear that his team seeks to fully embrace the lifestyle of electronic music and the underground night club scene. In the interview, we discussed what this means to him, detailed his current projects and spoke about various influences and aesthetics that tie into the overall vibe of his label.
We are pleased to present to you: 'The Max Holiday Interview'. You know what it is. Watch below.
