19 year old Milwaukee artist Tombo drops his third track. The producer, singer, and songwriter says 'Cutthroat Cutie' sort of fell together one night. "The hook was already written," says Tombo, "and the verse derived from a freestyle while driving home."
The R&B artist has been making music for roughly a year now. His debut track 'Safe With Ya' was our first introduction to his atmospheric signature sound. In the past, Tombo has collaborated with fellow local artist Emmitt James and preformed live-production sets.
Tombo says the vocal production for the track was heavily influenced by Frank Ocean, Supa Bwe, and Mick Jenkins. Instrumentally, however, the creative is on his own wave. The dark and murky instrumental samples the Studio Ghibli film 'Princess Mononoke', along with a Japanese lullaby. From the start of his musical career, Tombo has always incorporated his love of anime into his music. Listen to 'Cutthroat Cutie' and keep your ears peeled for more.
