Milwaukee-based Gauss will be playing today at the Jazz Gallery (at 8:30p) as a part of the massive music festival, Arte Para Todos, happening this weekend. The five -sometimes six- piece band has been steadily making a strong impression in their local scene. Often playing underground shows, the outfit has recently been appearing on more formal bills at various venues around the city. Their technical sound accentuates their dynamic instrumentation and vocals. Accompanied by a violin and saxophone, Gauss is characterized by a unique post-hardcore sound, emphasized by an up-front and emotive delivery from front person, Eddie Miezio.
Gauss has been active since 2012. Their current live set is highly resonating. Even in the early hours of the morning, in dark and drunken bars, this group captivates their audience. These guys have continually tightened and developed their sound and performance. Make time to catch these guys live. See them tonight at the Jazz Gallery, perhaps!
